The idea for our applications started out as a frustration, long befor the existence of application stores.

In 1992 I started my company selling for 10 different producers in 3 countries.  

Following up about 3000 potential customers without having a secretary demanded a good organisation.

Therefor, I developed my own simple “customer relationship management” software in Windows Access (a light “CRM” avant la lettre).

Important was to have a simple system without much administration to know

- when I had to contact a potential client again

- whatfor

- where he was located : to combine as much visits as possible seen the huge

  territory, I used the coordinates of a Michelin map and put these also in my

  database so in 1 glance I knew which customers where close to each other

- the last date I contacted him : reversing my database I could check which

  where the clients I hadn’t contacted in a long time – this in order to not to

  loose a customer out of sight for a to long period

- in order to forget nothing – my PDA should be my memory !

Being a lot on the road I bought my first PDA-Smartphone QTEK 2020 around 2004 and that is where the idea of developing an application grew.

Using that I was able to import all my contacts (about 5.000 companies with 1 to 4 contacts per company) in my phone and I didn’t have to carry a 10 cm thick printout of all my contacts in the car.

The logical sequel was to attempt to replace my Access–CRM to do all in outlook to remain with 1 programm for PC and PDA that synced automatically. But the biggest problem was how to turn outlook into my main follow-up system.

This proved to be impossible to do it in a proper way in outlook in

- Contacts ? The management of contacts in outlook is standardised

  and not flexibly adaptable to ones needs. All operating systems on

  PDA’s up to today still work more or less according to the same

  principle : you have a number of fixed fields but it is impossible to 

  add other fields into your contact details (for exemple when you

  have to call that contact)

- Tasks ? The task list in outlook is a simple list, not linked to contacts

  on PDA and that does not give a good overview (do you use it ?)

- Agenda ? If you have to call 1 person in a day it could seem a good

   idea to put it in your agenda but when you have to call several people

  your agenda seems full and you loose the overview. If you forget to

  do a task you check each tmie the passed weeks and replace it to

  another day ?

… and then you still have to look in agenda or tasks, type every time the name of the person, go back to contacts, search the name again to call that contact, jumping from one programm to the other all the time.

Every user of outlook (95 % of business users) is confronted with this problem and all the operating systems of PDA have more or less the same lack in the standard management of contacts and tasks.

It is incredible and curious that no PDA offers a good solution for the following problem :

phones are used to make calls but how to remember when you have to call somebody ?

One of the big advantages is that you can drive, look in the list who you have to contact today and in 1 click you can call that person, driving safely.

For the moment we did not want to go in the cloud to avoid high download costs for data and to avoid sync problems whenever you have no connection.
